Loved the beer selection. Started with fired pickle chips and Texas toothpicks, both were fast and tasty. Sauce was awesome on the toothpicks, nice and spicy, so I saved it for my fries. Loved the prime dip and the chicken avocado sandwich. My husband and I ordered and shared and though they were both awesome. Friends got whitefish basket and were happy that it was fresh (and not from GFS or Cysco). Only thing that could have been better were the onion rings. Brian was our server and he was quick to serve and attentive even though it was busy as both MI and MI State games were on. Will definitely be back on our next trip to the Soo!

If you're hard up ... then pay a visit to Moloney's. There is a dearth of eating establishments in the actual downtown area of The Soo. So if you're famished, tired, and don't want to drive, try here. But be ready, you're gonna eat. But that's about all. My wife & I stopped here for the exact reasons above. It was 7:00pm on Sunday, only about 3 or 4 tables were occupied. A few more patrons at the bar, yet ythere was no hostess to seat us. We walked around to scope out seats when the bartender told us just pick an open table. OK then. In general, the service that night was horrible. We were served our drinks after about a 10 minute wait. Then we waited another 20 minutes to see our waiter. This person did not even introduce themself or say anything at all. So I guess we're ready to order??? OK then. It took us another 20 minutes to get our food. The menu there is typical bar fare. I ordered the pastrami sandwich. The sandwich itself was outstanding. It was served with carmelized onions on it - a good flair. But I paid extra for the Moloney fries - a total waste. It was an extra 3 bucks for some salty gravy, stringy cheese & supposed bacon. My wife ordered nachos with beef & chicken. I could tell by looking that the beef had been around a while. My wife said that the chicken was unrecognizable. After over an hour in there, we were out! Prices in general are good. The beer was cold. We paid $40 with tip (we were way too nice on the tip). At least Moloney's has a pub feel. But beware. We had been to Moloney's a few years back and the experience was OK. Much better than this time. Next time, I'm geting in the car and driving to Antler's or Clyde's.

Without a doubt one of my favorite hangouts while in college. Good burger and fries. I still love the atmosphere of the place. Always have good beer available.

FAST food service... But that's about all this joint has going for it. Upon entering the hostess told us she had "no clue" when a table would come available. We then had to hunt down a server to order. Food came out quick! Seriously, wicked quick! Then we unfortunately had to, again, find the server for our bill which took him an un-Godly Long time to produce. Quality is average bar food. A number of beers on tap, nice. Just way to "college party" for anyone expecting an actual dining experience.

Grabbed some lunch while waiting for the next ship to come in at the Locks. Seated ourselves then our waitress took about 10 minutes to come over. She was quick after that, so she made up for it. Really nice beer selection. I had some of the Goose Island 312, a rare find on tap in Michigan. Wife ordered the reuben, me the steak tip sandwich. Both were great. Steak was a little spicier than I expected, but it was still good. Not many choices really close to the Locks so this is a good option. Definitely check it out!

The burgers here were phenomenal!! Sweet potato fries were delicious. Great atmosphere. Cool Irish pub/sports bar @ the tip of Michigan. Would definitely eat there again if in that neck of the woods.

The place to go for anything resembling 'real' food on your bar crawl. Kitchen does close fairly early through. Free popcorn. TVs, pool tables, juke box. Mix of bar seating, high top tables, dining tables and booths. One of my favorites.

Great food! Loved the olive burger...and they have a great selection on tap. Beautiful decor, ambience, etc.

My mouth is watering just thinking about how delicious the burgers are here! Very reasonable prices, and some of the best burgers I have ever had--the blue burger and the olive burger are amazing! It's bar food, so don't come here if you are expecting anything healthy--a caesar salad is as good as it gets in that area. Great selection on beer as well. Now that I don't live in the Soo, it is the one place I still think about going back to, good for either chilling and having a few beers with friends, watching hockey, or having a nice dinner with a lover or family. It will be the one of the first places I visit when I get back up north. The Irish red is a perfect compliment to a cold snowy evening. Be sure to play some of the bar games with your friends. Overall a fine establishment.

I can't say anything bad about Moloney's. My job sends me to Sault Ste Marie in the winters for a few weeks. Moloney's has become my preferred place to go when I can't decide what to eat. The food is good, the beer selection is rather broad, and they have the two things every Irish pub should...Jameson and Guinness. The building itself is pretty cool. It's obvious that someone is a sports fan as there are plenty of televisions and the walls are adorned with framed, signed sports jerseys from some of the bigger names in professional sports. If you are looking for a place to watch a game this would be the place to go. While you're there you can pick some good tunes out of the juke box, play billiards, and enjoy good food and drinks.

Nice staff - fried pickles a little bit disappointing but burgers really good - like the sweet potatoe fries here. All in all for a Pub in the Soo a little bit too pricy. Unfortunately there are not so much Pubs like this in the Soo - so go there its ok.

First time to the Soo, and first time to Maloney's. Went on a Friday night with a large group (about 14ppl). While we all didnt get to sit together, we were all in the same area. Wait staff was good, though we had a slight misunderstanding as to what a snake bite was, I always thought it was 1/2 cider and 1/2 Ale, and what I got was a whiskey and Lime juice shot. Not a big deal, and it was sort of funny when I brought it up to our server. She ended up comping the Whiskey / Lime juice shot and both of us chalked it up to being a regional difference. Overall nice spot to have a few drinks, catch up and grab something to eat.

Stopped in on engineers day for lunch. The beer selection was pretty good so we had high hopes for the food. But sadly the portion size was super small in the white fish basket.

Great place. The service was great. The beers we're cold and they had 20 beers on tap. There were enough TVs to watch the game and there is also a pool table.

I've been dining at Moloney's almost every year I vacation in the Soo. In previous years it was a good place to eat. Unfortunately the service is just not so great now. There were 6 of us in our party this most recent visit. Our waiter was very friendly and quite impressive as he took our orders by memory and delivered perfectly! Apparently the main issue is in the timing of the kitchen. The atmosphere is nice and clean. Our food all tasted great. I had the prime rib wrap and onion rings and was happy. We will return in a couple years when we forget how long it took and how starving we were on today's visit.

Good was pretty good, but mostly everything was fried. Not the place I would recommend if you're looking for something heathy; however, great atmosphere if you're looking to watch a game or hang out, listen to music, and play pool.

Pretty dead on a Monday night. A handful of locals at the bar watching whatever happened to be on tv. One enjoyed a beer and a cigar in the corner. Friendly waitstaff. Free popcorn in the dining area. Good place to enjoy a beer or two, while not having to shout over the music or crowd to have a conversation.

Service was lacluster at best. Food was nothing but greese. Way over priced, and then they over charged my credit card by over $30. Place is only good for drinks.

The place was nice and the menu options good. The food was decent too.

I'm originally from the Soo, and my family has been long time devotees to Maloney's. It has a great atmosphere (see Paul e's review), clean with friendly waitstaff. You can watch the game on the big screen TV's or just sit and talk with a few brews. It is definitely a local hangout year-round, but has a fair share of tourists in the summer. Great selection of beers for the area, on tap and bottled, as well as a full bar. The menu isn't incredibly extensive, but carries a range of items from typical bar food to whitefish or perch dinners and steak. Always tasty, hearty, and reasonably priced. My grandma loves the olive burger. I like the Irish sticks (deep fried green beans!) or the Con Queso to snack on, and maybe a steak or bowl of soup for dinner (not being a fish fan myself). Overall, probably the best bar in the Soo.

Service was a little slow. I had some a sandwich and fries which was okay. We also went there with a big group and once again we seemed to have to go up to the bar to get serviced. They need more waitresses. Now maybe it was a strange night and they were swamped but it didn't seem to busy to have to wait 10-15 minutes to get a beer.

Good place to sit and talk to friends. Decent draft selection and an okay black and tan. Don't mind it at all.

Not a lot to do in the Soo... This was a really fun place to go hang out. Kinda reminded me of Cheers. The food is just ok...if I ever visit the Soo again, I'll probably go to Maloneys but not for the food.

Old time Irish atmosphere (I've been to many real Irish Bars in Ireland), great food, modest prices, great service. Places like this are hard to find. The place to be on St. Paddies day.
